​​Our Recipes

​​All the recipes in The Recipe ​Box have been tested and re-tested and put through vigorous taste checks.

When I first started Free-From baking I found some really crappy recipes. But I didn't know until I had wasted time and ingredients on making them. I was a really good 'regular' baker so I had a real confidence crisis when I swapped to gluten free baking. All the recipes I tried were just giving me gritty, crumbly affairs. I thought I was doomed to eat terrible cake for the rest of my days.

Or, to be honest, I think I would have just given cake up. GASP! My first cakes were that bad.

But I perservered and ​my journey has led me to this point, ​and I want to help you ​​get to this point, but a lot quicker than I did.

I started my journey with the basics but am now really starting to stretch myself and my skills. I think every cake can be made either gluten free or vegan.

It's ​been such a hard job ( no really, taste testing all that cake is hard work) but I ( and my tummy) have gladly stepped up so you can have full confidence in your recipes.

A baker is only as good as her or his recipe.

You could be an amazing baker but if you are trying to make a cake from a dodgy recipe you won't get great results. You have to be able to trust your recipe.

​This is why we have tested and retested our recipes, to ensure you have this confidence.

When I buy a recipe book I may only make a dozen or so recipes from the book so rather than fill the class with recipes for the sake of it, I have narrowed them down and just included those that I think you will just have to bake.
